The washer made of lead is suitable for a perfect sealing of the pump valve of all Petromax models. The Lead Washer should not be used with petrol lamps. The Viton Washer (83v) should be used in that case.
Lead has the property to be malleable; it can become distorted and can thus be easily placed in the appropriate place and firmly screwed in, so that it is directly squeezed between the components.
It is recommended to replace the washer each time the corresponding screw is unscrewed.
